IT Systems Specialist
Roles & Responsibilities
• Work with Business Users to ensure that the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) and the Hydro Accounting System (HAS) are implemented as per user requirements and expectations
• Works with the SCMS and HAS Project Manager on Budget and Contract management
• Provides regular reporting on project budget and contract status to Management
• Carries out budget and costing analysis, and makes recommendations to Management to assist in the decision making process
• Ensures Management of Change process is implemented and maintained for the SCMS and the HAS systems. Maintain appropriate documentation of changes.
• Provides support to the SCMS Project Team in the area of strategic planning and analysis of future phases of the project.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and provides direction for general technologies based upon industry best practices.
• Develops maintenance and disaster recovery plans for the SCMS and HAS systems to ensure the environment is running optimally.
• Coordinates with business groups and technical support staff to plan maintenance cycles and upgrades.
• Assists Business Continuity Plan team by identifying and implementing disaster recovery infrastructure and procedures.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Science / Commerce / Accounting / Computer Applications with at least ten (10) years post degree experience in the related field and industry with at least five (5) years in DBA support
• Experience in the development and use of Computer Systems dedicated to Management and Systems, in oil and gas industry
• Good experience in dealing with consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers, particularly pertaining to Systems and Business Process management issues
• Capability to independently handle projects and coordinate with other staff of department and company
• Broad knowledge of software development technologies & server operating systems
• Good knowledge and experience in the budgeting and development and administration of contracts
• Excellent Computing skills, especially in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint etc
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
