* Arrange the optimum distribution of work on a day to day basis
* Undertake regular (daily, weekly, monthly) checks on the work completed by team members under own supervision, ensuring optimum outputs are of an acceptable standard and look for ways to continuously improve the effectiveness of work
* Provide on the job support and systematic knowledge transfer to team members, helping them attain the necessary skills, and identify the formal training requirements of the team with line management, where it cannot be met locally
* Hold regular training sessions for the operations staff in various areas to insure skill improvements.
* Provide a point of contact for team members needing personal support, ensuring they are aware of the company’s requirements of them, and supporting them in the achievement of those requirements
* Maintain a level of technical expertise sufficient to act as a technical point of reference for team members, to give them appropriate technical direction and to undertake technical work themselves
* Disseminate and escalate communications appropriately across the business
* Undertake appraisals and contribute to the drafting and agreement to development plans for team members and coach and support them to achieve development objectives
* Ability to work independently to support all Windows servers providing connection services for the unit systems and customers.
* Ability to work on shifts and cover on-call schedules during weekends, off-working hours, public holidays, etc.
* Ability to resolve escalated tickets and work with daily operations issues, and initiate change requests when necessary

* Monitor system logs, evaluate, and prevent security/virus related issues and activates

* Conduct system analysis and development, with limited support and direction from professional staff, to keep the systems current with changing technologies
* Reports any alarming or abnormal behaviour or findings in the system anticipating issues and resolving them before they happen.
* Understands the critical processing cycles in detail such as email billing and the communication process between the billing and provisioning systems and/or any other relevant processing cycles.
* Attend, administer support Microsoft Provisioning System and insure functionality and assist in resolving issues related to this area.
* Provide guidance and training for both Exchange and Provisioning.
* Manages future versions of the windows applications and insure that they are fully tested and implemented correctly
* Maintains DNS, SMTP, domain controllers, active directory applications, mail, and web servers.
* Ensures secure operation of all servers and services though the use of security and encryption tools such as SSH, SSL, PGP, IPSec and through extensive staff training and documentation.
* Meets regularly with the informatics management to assess ongoing projects, system maintenance and development, prioritizes work and plan future development.
* Manages Windows account maintenance including adds, changes and removes.
* Manages Windows security features to protect confidential information while allowing appropriate access.
* Researches, installs, and tests software updates and patches to supported applications and various operating systems
* Documents changes and follow the standard change management procedures.
* Manages the current capacity for the infrastructure forecasting expected growth in desk and resources.
* To maintain and support systems on site and in user location where necessary
* Participate in business driven projects, and assist in planning and implementation to set project plan
* Pro-actively manage and optimize HMC systems and interface with vendors for support if required

* Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certified on Microsoft Exchange Server
* Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification MCTS
* Microsoft Certified IT Professional certification MCITP
