EFL Lecturers/Instructors Needed in JIC

QUALIFICATIONS

• Native Speakers of English

- Applicants must be from a country where English is the first language (US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand). They must have grown-up in that country

- Applicants must have a university degree in addition to an internationally recognized TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, DELTA or any related Certificates in teaching English.

• Non Native Speakers of English

- Applicants are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Applied Linguistics or any related fields from an accredited university.

- The minimum qualification grades must be Very Good or above. Candidates must be male. Preference will be given to those who are 50 years old or younger.

EXPERIENCE:

Candidates are required to have had full-time experience in teaching English as a foreign language, preferably at the post secondary level. Those with Bachelor's Degrees must have four (4) years experience. Those with PhD degrees must have two (2) years experience. Those with MA degrees must have three (3) years experience. Preference will be given to those who have taught in Saudi Arabia, GCC Countries and the Middle East.

Conditions of Service:

Salary: The competitive salaries are based on experience and educational background. Salaries are paid monthly using the Hijri calendar, Therefore, employees are paid around ten (10) extra days per Gregorian year.

Other Remuneration: There is an End of Service payment of half a month's salary for each of the first five (5) years of employment, and one month salary for each of the subsequent years. Overtime is paid when employees work extra hours.

Housing: Every employee, single or with family, will be provided with a furnished housing unit or receive a rental allowance. Utilities are not provided.

Vacation: Holidays follow a national academic calendar for the whole country. This normally includes around ten (10) days for Ramadan and the same for Hajj, plus eight (8) weeks in the summer. There is normally a semester break as well. During all these paid holidays, those who want to leave the country may obtain single or multiple entry visas. They can also visit the neighboring country of Bahrain on weekends.

Working Hours: There are five (5) working days per week (Saturday through Wednesday). Lecturers and instructors have to teach up to twenty (20) contact hours a week, including labs. In addition, there is a minimum requirement of ten (10) office hours per week.

Air Tickets: A round-trip air ticket will be provided once a year for the employee, his wife, and up to two children up to the age of 18.

Health Care: The employee and members of his family will be provided with free medical care at the Royal Commission health care facilities.

Education of Children: Two of the employee's children, under the age of 15, will be provided free education in schools specified by the Royal Commission.

Probation: There is a ninety (90) day probation period. Family status employees can bring their families only after the probation period is successfully completed.

Skills

1.Professional experience in curriculum development.
2. Proficiency in oral and written English and computer applications.
3. Applicants with administrative and leadership experience in an academic setting would be preferred

Education

B.Sc. for Instructor, M.Sc. for Lecturer and Ph.'D. for Assistant Professor in the relevant field
