Core purpose of Job:
To conduct welding and fabrication for a given project in a safe timely and efficient manner laid down to standards.
Activities:
1. To conduct welding and fabrication of various type of metal such as mild steel, carbon, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, etc.
2. To fabricate and modify machine and equipment components where necessary. 3. To develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts.
4. To check for defects and shape component parts, build up worn parts by building layers onto them.
5. To fabricate equipment of new ideas and initiative being directed by the management.
6. To conduct installation of new structures, machineries and equipment.
7. To work as team with pipe fitters requiring welded joints to accomplish the job.
8. To attend to emergency repairs as quick as possible to avoid delays in operation.
9. Report any unsafe condition and substandard installations for rectification.
10. perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.
11. Ensure that company Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
Skills
Qualifications: Essential 1. Trade Certificate in Welding Technology
2. Able to interpret shop drawing and proficient in measuring tools.
3. Able to conduct different type of arc welds, position and reinforcement.
4. Good knowledge in Gas Cutting equipment.
5. Knowledge in TIG and MIG welding process is an advantage but not necessarily required.
